Winter is upon us... the last few weeks have been windy (very) wet and cold with some beautiful late autumn days thrown in for good measure.
Our Maribyrnong trip went well with a handful of intrepid enthusiasts turning up for the voyage. We met at the "Warmies"and launched our craft - Geoff Carrol with Kibby crewed by Jimmy Baillie, Mars with Andrew and Hahn Campbell, Graham Signorini as OOD with Nebari, and Chris Kelly with Takapunt crewed by David Mahony.
As we waited for the arrival of the St. Ayles skiff Cariad with Jim Barr and his crew the wind grew stronger, on their arrival we had a brief discussion and Geoff agreed to tow the skiff up the Maribyrnong. Jim had a brief service to bless the event andwe were away.
Graham led off in Nebari with Mars following, Kibby took Cariad under tow, followed by Takapunt. We had a brief tour of Webb Dock then proceeded up the Yarra and Maribyrnong rivers to Aberfeldie park for lunch and then return to the Warmies.
Although strong winds were experienced a good day was had by all participants and Jim stated that the best way to row was under tow!
